Training Opportunities
- Laboratory Safety
-
Laboratory environments often have many potential hazards, including chemical, physical, electrical, and mechanical hazards. Employees that will be working in a laboratory must complete Laboratory Safety Training (Online) – Train Traq Course #2114106 prior to being assigned any duties that could result in an exposure to any hazardous condition. To complete this course, follow the instructions for Online Training provided on the How do I register for laboratory safety training? page. For questions about this course, contact EHS at 979-845-2132 or at labsafety@tamu.edu.
Note: If working with hazardous chemicals, Hazard Communication training is also required. Hazard Communication Training (Online) – Train Traq Course #11020
- Hazard Communication
- Hazard communication (chemical safety), physical safety, and fire safety training for new/newly assigned employees must be completed prior to assigning any duties that result in exposure to hazardous chemicals. To register for this course, follow the instructions for Online Training provided on the How do I register for laboratory safety training? page. For questions about this course, contact EHS at 979-845-2132 or at labsafety@tamu.edu.
- Laboratory Safety for Teaching Assistants – Train Traq Course #2111402 - is currently unavailable. For questions about this course, contact EHS at 979-845-2132 or at labsafety@tamu.edu.
- Cryogenic Safety
- This online course teaches safety precautions and hazards associated with cryogenic work, storage and transportation of cryogenic materials, and safety equipment to be in place for personal protection. To take this course, follow the instructions for Online Training provided on the How do I register for laboratory safety training? page. For questions about this course, contact EHS at 979-845-2132 or at labsafety@tamu.edu.
