General and Occupational Safety
EHS promotes General and Occupational Safety on campus to protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our Shop Safety program aims to keep all Texas A&M workshops up to code and the workers safe through proper training, consultation, and inspections. We also provide information and training for and have oversight of forklift safety, crane safety, fall protection, farm tractor safety, hot work permits, lockout-tag out, slow-moving vehicles safety, stage/production safety and more.
EHS utilizes a framework of various occupational health and safety management systems to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements, identify and manage risks, and address health and safety concerns. Our departmental programs integrate components of ANSI, OSHA and ISO best practices, and we work collaboratively with other university partners to promote and protect the safety of everyone on our campuses.
