How do I find out if I need a respirator?
If you feel that the engineering controls (i.e., fume hood, glove box, scavenger system, etc.) available in your workplace are not sufficient to mitigate a non-biological respiratory hazard, contact Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Occupational Health at ehsd.occ.health@tamu.edu to evaluate your work process and determine if respiratory protection should be required.
If you are concerned you may need respiratory protection from potentially hazardous aerosolized biological particles, contact the Office of Biosafety at bohp@tamu.edu.
