Laboratory, Building and Operational Safety at Texas A&M University is committed to supporting the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors by actively promoting safe practices in laboratories, buildings, and campus operations. Our team of experts offers comprehensive support and assessments in laboratory and engineering safety, routine inspections of labs, buildings, and shops, general campus safety and chemical inventory management for laboratory and building operations. Through our services, we strive to maintain safe working and learning environments, ensure compliance and foster a culture of safety across the Texas A&M community.
Program Areas
Texas A&M University is dedicated to maintaining a safe and compliant environment for all students, faculty, and staff in all laboratory settings. Through proactive safety planning, technical support, and focused training, our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams help mitigate risks and foster a culture of safety across engineering spaces, research laboratories, and teaching facilities.
EHS conducts routine inspections to promote safe work, learning, and living environments across campus. These inspections help identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with university policies and state and federal regulations.
EHS promotes Operational Safety to protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors and ensures that campus operations meet safety standards and keep everyone safe through training, consultation, and inspections.
Accurate chemical inventories are essential for maintaining safe work environments and meeting regulatory responsibilities. Keeping inventories current supports safety, compliance, and informed decision-making across campus while protecting our people, our facilities, and our environment.
