General Safety Concerns

Your vigilance plays a key role in preventing accidents before they occur.
If you notice a potential hazard or unsafe condition on campus—such as a blocked fire exit, improper chemical storage, or malfunctioning equipment—please report it to EHS at 979-845-2132 or via email at ehs@tamu.edu.

When reporting, kindly include the specific location (building and room number) and a brief description of the concern.

You may also submit general safety concerns through the Origami Portal. To ensure your report is directed appropriately, select "Safety Concern" at the bottom of the page.

Workers' Compensation Insurance

The Texas A&M University System Workers' Compensation Insurance (WCI) Program was created by the State of Texas to provide reasonable and necessary medical coverage and disability payments to employees who sustain injuries or occupational diseases while in the course and scope of their employment.

All university employees who sustain an injury or illness in the course of their employment must notify their supervisor immediately. To comply with state regulations and ensure claim eligibility, injuries must be reported within 30 days.

Supervisors or department liaisons are responsible for submitting the First Report of Injury via the Origami Portal as soon as the incident is identified.

For questions regarding Workers' Compensation Insurance, please contact Employee Relations at 979-862-4027 or email Employee-Relations@tamu.edu.

Report an Environmental Concern

Protecting our campus ecosystems requires prompt action and adherence to regulations.

If you observe environmental irregularities—such as oil or chemical spills, discolored water in campus waterways, or unusual fish kills—please notify EHS immediately at 979-845-2132.

For after-hours concerns, reports should be directed to the Communications Center at 979-845-4311.

When making your report, please include:
  • The nature and exact location of the issue.
  • The date and time it was observed.
  • Any known potential sources of the problem.
  • Supporting evidence, such as photographs or eyewitness accounts.
Once a report is filed, our Environmental Compliance group will investigate to determine whether any regulations have been violated and will initiate appropriate remediation or preventive measures.

Student and Visitor Injuries

Accurately documenting incidents involving guests and students on university property is vital.
Incidents involving non-employees, such as students or visitors, should be reported in the Origami Portal.

When submitting these reports, be sure to select the "Injured Non-Employee" option.

Prompt reporting is critical for the university to track safety trends and implement measures that protect the wider campus community.
