AgriLife Safety
Texas A&M AgriLife Research and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety to promote agricultural safety across Texas A&M University and all Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Centers throughout the state of Texas.
Overview
Through comprehensive safety programs and training initiatives, we work to reduce workplace injuries and enhance overall safety awareness. In addition, services such as annual inspections support continuous improvement efforts that help safeguard personnel, protect natural resources, and ensure environmental responsibility.
Required Training Documentation
A safe workplace starts with well-trained people. Our programs train AgriLife personnel to identify hazards and provide occupational health services—such as medical surveillance—for those in higher-risk roles or working with specific biological or chemical agents.
Required Safety Training
All AgriLife employees complete core safety training, including Hazard Communication and Laboratory Safety. Additional modules, such as Heat Stress Prevention, Shop Safety, and Zoonotic Disease Awareness, keep training relevant to specific job tasks.
