EHS conducts inspections for general building, residence hall, lab, and shop safety, radioactive material compliance, environmental compliance, construction, and P3 projects. These inspections identify potential health and safety hazards that could affect students, employees, visitors, and the environment. EHS also conducts or coordinates inspections of certain safety equipment, including chemical fume hoods, fire extinguishers, and emergency showers.
Checklists are used to help identify safety concerns and to ensure these concerns are consistently monitored. EHS encourages everyone to use these checklists on a regular basis to perform self-assessments of their work areas. Our Safety Manuals are a great resource for creating and maintaining a safe work and learning environment. Information in these manuals will also help prepare you for annual inspections.
